OVERVIEW |
OpenCap API is an Application Programming
Interface allowing to connect to Medialon Manager V5,
our Windows®-based control software, from a third party
application, through the network. The legendary ease of
programming and reliability have made Medialon Manager
V5 widely used in simple as well as critical control
applications such as: Museum media control, Theme Parks
and Attractions show control, Architectural video &
lighting control, Convention Centers audio & video
remote control, etc.
Thanks to OpenCap API, it is now possible for third
party developers to:
● Connect to Medialon Manager over the network
● Discover Medialon Manager internal objects (UserScreens,
Variables, Tasks, etc.)
● Take the control of those Medialon Manager internal
objects
Medialon Manager can control any audiovisual equipment
using any protocol and network. Being software-based, it
integrates perfectly with IT, opening a wide range of
new applications. Audio & video streaming control, links
to database, media management, and facility wide control
are not dreams anymore.
The OpenCap API now offers a more powerful connection to
the core of Medialon Manager.
The OpenCap functionality is the ability for Medialon
Manager to expose and share its variable, tasks, user’s
screen and cues, over a TCP/IP network using the MON
(Manager On Network) protocol. This reliable protocol is
the one used between several Medialon Manager V5 in
multiple control software architecture.
The API offers a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) that connect
to Medialon Manager using this protocol, allowing
developers to read data and trigger task or change
variable value in their Medialon Manager project. This
API offers also several programming examples in
different languages (C++, VisualBasic, C#).
Licensing
OpenCap API is licensed free against return of license
agreement signed. It is limited to use with Medialon
Manager V5 and higher versions and cannot be used for
other purposes or without Medialon Manager V5.
OpenCap API is reserved to Medialon Manager registered
and trained users. Medialon reserves the right to refuse
to license OpenCap API.
