German-based AVE Verhengsten GmbH
& CO employed Medialon Manager for the Audi exhibit at
the Wolkswagen Autostadt (auto show) held in Wolfsbürg,
Germany. The systems integrator installed an elaborate
system of projectors, monitors and playback devices into
a unique, multi-exhibit space, which is completely
controlled by Medialon.
The Audi Pavillon, which is expected to be in place for
several years, is a part the Wolkswagen Autostadt in
Wolfsburg. The theme of the exhibit centers around the
life of a fictional, futuristic family—Max, Clara and
their son Paul. Equipment highlights include a
40-monitor escalator-shaped display with 40 channels of
synchronous video that tell the history of Audi; several
TFT’s that show Max and Clara in their futuristic office
and home; and a rear-projection cylinder, six meters
long by six meters in diameter that takes viewers on a
time-travel adventure. To create the illusion of being
inside a time machine, 18 synchronous mpeg-2 video
servers play to 18 projectors filling the vessel with
imagery from all sides. Equipment highlights include
MPEG-2 servers, DLP projectors with RS-232, and flat
screen monitors with XGA resolution and RS-232. Medialon
is used to control the entire exhibit.
“The
challenge with this installation was to to combine the
many technologies into a seamless presentation”
commented AVE’s Stefan Reinhardt. “State of the art’ is
essential when it comes to effective presentations of
these types and the control system can be critical in
making the show a success. Medialon made the programming
of this show quite managable. ” |
