The Belgium-based company Blue Squares, specialized in
AV fixed installation, has selected Medialon Manager to
be integrated in a “multimedia” show about the history
of the County of Gruyères in the Castle of Gruyères in
Switzerland.
Castle of Gruyères is one of the most prestigious
castles in Switzerland and was constructed in the 13th
century. The castle’s roof becomes a projection room so
visitors can attend a thrilling multimedia show called
“Gruyères”. The 18-minute show, available in 8
languages, and displayed on a 6-meter wide screen, mixes
high definition images, music, lighting and sound. 8
other projections punctuate the story with occasional
appearances of holographic characters, textures, and
legendary images of the most beautiful legends of the
Gruyères region. It brings the visitor out of time, on a
discovery of the wonderful story of the castle.
A storyteller narrates the Tales of Gruyères, and can be
heard through earphones by the visitors.
Lighting effects take also an important part during the
show. Indeed, about 300meters of LEDs strips and more
than 120 small halogen projectors - which have been
specifically developed for the show - illuminates the
place and are synchronized with the videos.

controls and synchronizes the entire AV equipment,
lighting and 24 audio tracks used for the simultaneous
distribution language in the visitor’s earphones, as

Blue Squares has used the graphical user interface (GUI)
programming tool included in Medialon Manager that
allowed fast and easy programming of control panel used
for the show management.
For this installation, the challenge was to embed during
an 18-minute show, and all the AV equipment in a cramped
place, keeping the preservation of the castle in mind.
Thanks to Medialon Manager, which is, according to
Thierry Renard, Blue Squares Project Manager, « the best
product on the market », the challenge of integrating an
AV system in a cramped space by preserving the site was
a successful challenge.
