Rapenburg Plaza has supplied the
new De Kunstlinie theater in Almere, the Netherlands
with a fully-controlled theater stage-management system
controlled by Medialon Manager. Amsterdam-based
Rapenburg Plaza designed and integrated the system into
the building, which was finished last December after two-and-a-half
years of construction. The architecturally-stunning
theater is situated in the city center on the shores of
Weerwater lake.
Medialon Manager software is used on four servers to
control all of De Kunstlinie’s technical controls;
Medialon was also used to build the GUI of all the
theater’s technical controls.
The biggest challenge for Rapenburg Plaza in this
project was dealing with various fiber networks and
V-LANs to share the network with lights (ACN), sound
(Cobranet), video (Video over LAN) and the Medialon
Manager show control.
The
show control system is run and controlled by Medialon
Manager V4 and controls twelve KISS Box I/O interfaces,
two DMX interfaces, four MIDI interfaces, two N-port
servers, three UPS systems, an ETC Congo system, an
audio system and an e:cue system.
The project takes advantage of
Medialon's Any Protocol capability, allowing the system
to adapt to any communication protocol, and IP Control,
natively supported by Medialon Manager, a must to
integrate Kiss boxes with then new lighting protocol,
ACN.
Integrator Rapenburg Plaza (formerly
known as Ground Zero) has previously been responsible
for show control/stage management systems for the
Stadsteater in Göteborg (Sweden), and theaters and
operas in The Netherlands and Scandinavia. |
