Medialon has been selected to be
the center piece of a brand new permanent exhibition
called “The World of Evert Taube” located at Liseberg
Amusement park in Sweden.
The Swedish-based company Massteknik has installed one
Medialon Manager Pro license to control the entire
attraction dedicated to the famous 20th century Swedish
globetrotter poet and songwriter Evert Taube.
“The World of Evert Taube” exhibition is one of his kind
in Sweden. The attraction starts in an elevator where
visitors watch a 6-minute movie about Evert Taube on a
16-meter wide 180° oriented curved screen. 5x projectors
for the curved screen, and 6x more projectors for the
projection design have been installed for this show, all
controlled by Medialon Manager.
After the first show, visitors can walk through eight
different rooms, with different atmospheres based on the
most famous Evert Taube’s songs.
Medialon system takes also part of a “multimedia room”
where simulations of vintage radio, TV, cinema and
jukebox equipment have been displayed to demonstrate the
breadth of Taube’s artistic canvas.
At the end of the exhibition, visitors enter in the
pavilion’s farewell set-piece – a recreation of Taube’s
writing room, which is a closed scene relying heavily on
automated multimedia content. Visitors are greeted by a
waxwork replica of Taube at his desk and, after a short
speech from the man himself, a mixture of projected
images and automated lighting effects provide a
multi-layered finale.
“All the AV sources are controlled by Medialon Manager,
so everything is centralized”, said Jörgen Börling,
Massteknik’s Project Manager.
Indeed, Medialon Manager has been integrated to control
the entire exhibition, including one 103” Panasonic
plasma screen, 10x Samsung 40” LCD screens, 20x Watchout,
4x BSS London audio systems, lighting controlled via DMX
interface, and a sound system supplied by Genelec Audio.
Touch panel computers installed through the exhibition
allowing visitors to watch pictures and to listen to
Evert Taube’s music are also controlled by Medialon.
“What we’ve provided here is a multimedia tribute to a
multimedia figure, but it’s not multimedia for the sake
of it. Liseberg didn’t want anything shallow or gimmicky.
They’ve been working very closely with Taube’s family,
and the pavilion’s opening ceremony was very emotional
for them. If they feel that way, then we can feel that
we have succeeded”, Jörgen Börling concluded.
Jörgen Börling from Massteknik was the project manager
for “The World of Evert Taube” attraction, and Mikael
Ena from Kulturteknologerna was in charge of the
Medialon programming.
