Located in the center of Mandalay
Bay’s casino floor in Las Vegas, Eyecandy Sound Lounge &
Bar™ features Medialon Manager Show and Media Control
system.
Medialon system has been integrated by the Canadian-based
Réalisations.net company. Réalisations.net is a pioneer
in touch-controlled technology and moving architecture.
It has integrated Medialon Show and Media Control system
to control the entire Eyecandy Sound Lounge and
especially the 3 main innovative ideas of the place.
The first installation controlled by Medialon is the
20x14 feet LED central dance floor made of touch-activated
LED tiles. The dance floor is in essence an immersive
environment, where the bright LED floor, the video walls
and the ceiling are all active surfaces. An array of 140
pressure sensors tracks the dancers' steps and generates
interactive visuals under their feet, while triggering
changes in the video projections on the walls. The whole
thing is based on a database of still images and videos,
which are layered and assembled in real time by
software, providing endless variations for the club's
environment, while preserving consistency and style.
The second installation is the interactive multi-touch
tables that have been created by Réalisations.net
exclusively for Eyecandy Sound Lounge. These innovative
tables are displayed nearby the dance floor. The four
multi-touch tables installed in VIP booths allows guests
to interact with visuals, sound and lights, as well as
communicate with each other. The custom tracking
technology, developed in-house, enables multiple guests
to simultaneously use a table, effectively turning them
in an area of collective sharing. Guests can choose
between a variety of visual and sound effects, or opt to
switch to a special SpyMode where they can hook and
control any of the bar's 13 motorized and fixed cameras.
From their booth they can zoom on the action at the bar,
the dance floor, or at the adjacent tables. Moreover, by
pressing a button, guests can make the booth rotate. The
table remains stationary as the booth rotates to have
its entrance face to the adjacent booth. In each table,
2 PCs are installed and controlled by Medialon software
(power on/off) as well as the cameras are controlled
through RS485.
Three sound stations, adjacent to the dance floor are
the third installation using Medialon Manager PRO
Software. They allow guests to connect their iPod® and
browse their personal music library from the table's
interface. Once connected, requests can be sent to the
DJ who can integrate guests’ playlists into the lounge’s
repertoire for the evening. For special events, the
stations can be setup for an iPod® battle, where guests
can match their mixing skills on a genuine club sound
system.
“For every project, we create content that is specific
to the client's need, while exploring and tastefully
deploying new technologies and methods” said
Louis-Pierre Morin, Technical Manager at
Réalisations.net. For Eyecandy, one of the main
challenges was the “custom hardware and software
technologies development” added Louis-Pierre Morin.
One Medialon Manager V4 PRO in a Show Control Machine
has been integrated to control the entire AV equipment
displayed at Eyecandy Sound Lounge & Bar.
Thanks to its creativity and the use of Medialon
technology, Réalisations.net has combined high
technology and design innovation at Eyecandy Sound
Lounge & Bar, motivated by two objectives in mind:
creating the guest's experience and bringing a new
dimension to clubbing.
