Two Medialon Manager V4 Lites are running at the new
Gaudi Centre in Reus, Spain. The system controls all the
AV functions and interactivity for exhibits dedicated to
Catalonia’s famed Modernist architect, Antoni Gaudi.
Opened by the City of Reus, the Gaudi Centre features
interactive models, tools and personal belongings of the
innovative architect, including scale models of the
Sagrada Familia cathedral and the undulating roof of La
Pedrera, both in Barcelona. Numerous models and
projections help visitors understand the thought
processes and concepts of Gaudi.
In the Centre’s AV department Medialon controls:
-
A Dataton Watchout system for six screens playing MPG
files about the
Gaudi
Center, which are synchronized with a LED lights in a
special visitor's section.
-
Four independent Watchout players projected on a curved
screen comprising MPG playing examples of architecture.
- Alsesis MIDI 24-channel sound.
- 36 channels of DMX for lighting.
-
Eight
input sensors and eight output relays.
-
Three Edje video repeaters and a sophisticated
audio-guide system.
“The most important reason for choosing Medialon Manager
V4 was the flexibility of the system to control any
device,” notes Lluís Badosa in the technical department
of SONO, a leading AV and multimedia producer.
“Moreover, we needed to interact with the Watchout
system, and the communication between both technologies
is very stable.”
Being PC-based and natively using IP control, Medialon
Manager can control any software from simple keystroke
emulation to complex IP protocols. With more and more
devices, such as video servers, PC-based, this opens a
wide range of opportunities.
In addition, Medialon Manager’s embedded Graphical User
Interface programming tool has been designed to allow
fast and easy programming of the control panel and
touchscreen inside the software itself.
Members of SONO’s technical team also included Lluís
Valero, Elena Ortega and Hugo Cadaval. |
