Gold Dust
gaming club is a new international and modern club
concept in Finland. Based in Vantaa and Tampere, Gold
Dust leads its visitors to exciting and
extraordinary atmosphere with unique games and royal-like
service.
Medialon Show & Media Control Software has been selected
and programmed by Lumia, the AV-automation leading
Finnish company, to be the main music, audio and
lighting controller of the entire gaming club in both
Vantaa and Tampere.
The Medialon system works as a scheduling agent for
atmosphere modes change, and triggers as well different
shows played in each Gold Dust gaming club rooms.
“Medialon system is the key ingredient of the system. It
integrates several different devices into an easy-to-use
system where complicated structure is hidden from users”,
says Timo Hiekkanen, operating and sales manager of
LUMIA. “Usability issues were crucial, since the system
had to be used by Gold Dust staff, and not by AV
professionals”, adds Hiekkanen.
Thanks to Medialon Manager Panel, Lumia has then been
able to design friendly-user touch panel interfaces to
provide the game club staff everything it needed to
handle, such as volume levels, shows launching, etc.
Medialon Manager is also daily used to start up
automatically the entire AV system installed in the
gaming club, according to a predefined timetable. Volume
levels rise, as well as video and audio playlists are
modified automatically when moving towards night time.
The timetable can be configured from a graphical user
interface which also provides controls for digital
television and video switching.
One Medialon Manager V5 Lite license controls via TCP/IP:
- A Kramer VP-8x8A audio matrix switcher
- A Biamp Nexia PM presentation mixer
- A Topfield TF100C digital satellite receiver
- A Tibor Media PC
- 3x Panasonic DW5100E video projectors
- 6x LCD displays
- A Moxa Nport 5110 (Jackpot-IO)
- An Elka KNX/EIB gateway
- and several DMX dimmers.
“Medialon Manager was chosen because of its versatility.
It doesn’t limit our freedom of choice; Medialon runs
smoothly with any hardware and gives us the possibility
to choose the best equipment regardless of the
manufacturer or connections.”, concludes Timo Hiekkanen.
Timo Eirto, from ZetaDisplay Finland Oy, was the
installer and AV contractor of the project. The company
provided the digital signage system and was responsible
for the hardware installation.
Timo Tuominen from Insinööritoimisto Olof Granlund Oy,
was the AV designer.
