Hålogaland Teater, a theater
company in the northernmost region of Norway , has moved
into a brand new building in Tromsø where, in the main
theater, Medialon Manager runs all the systems of the
Stage Manager’s desk.
In the mobile Stage Manager
console, three Olorin 15-inch LCD monitors are connected
via CAT5 BlackBox KVM extenders. One monitor is used as
a CCTV monitor, one as a PC monitor and the third as a
touchscreen controlling the Medialon Manager
application.
The Medialon Manager PC is located
in the server/machine room at the back of the
auditorium. Through a total of six RS-232/485 serial
ports, the system controls work lights, emergency
lights, the talk-to-stage mic, CCTV camera matrix and
pan/tilt, visual cue lights, KVM matrix switch,
stopwatch, smoke hatches, and more. In the event of a
fire alarm, the system switches on both emergency and
work lights.
The control booth lighting console
also has control of some of the systems by means of an
Olorin touchscreen with Medialon Manager Panel software.
PC Anywhere software has also been
installed on the Medialon PC, allowing the systems to be
remotely maintained via the Internet.
System design and programming is by Vidar F. Eggen of
Multitekst with installation by Lydrommet. "What made
this installation unique was how we gave the users one
compact touch screen user interface including all
necessary controls to operate six physical devices in a
clear and flexible way. By using the KVM extender in
combination with Medialon network resource, we could
supply a very simple and secure cable setup." Viddar
