Medialon hits new heights in Zermatt, Switzerland’s
Matterhorn Museum where it serves as the museum
controller and synchronizes media during the “Matterhorn
Show.” Medialon was selected by systems integrator Joy
Productions, which often selects the equipment for
events and fixed installations.
The recently-opened Matterhorn Museum tells the exciting
story of the towering mountain in the Swiss Alps from
its origins to the dramatic first ascent in 1865 to the
present. It also traces the tale of the village of
Zermatt, from its humble beginnings to becoming
internationally famous. In the Matterhorn Room visitors
are treated to a 30-minute video show where varying
weather conditions are projected onto a 3D model of the
alpine peak.
Medialon synchronizes a Dataton WATCHOUT cluster, DMX
and relays for the “Matterhorn Show” plus an array media
sources for the video presentation. The DMX signal of
the lighting designer and his control desk were recorded
into Medialon for easy operation.
Medialon pilots 50 channels of DMX (including strobes
and dimmers), relays, EIB (European Installation Bus),
two Panasonic 5600 projectors, a DVD player, VHS player,
WATCHOUT cluster, computers with touchscreen information
(MXM application control), Kramer Matrix, DZine HD
player, and DBX pro audio for the “Matterhorn Show.
In addition, Medialon
serves as a user-friendly platform for museum control by
the institution’s regular technical team.
Steiner Sarnen Schweiz designed and conceived the
Matterhorn Museum; Tokyo Blue provided lighting design.
"I decided to work with Medialon for this project
because it gives me the flexibility to bring my ideas to
reality," commented Tobias Waldmeier of Joy
Productions. " Medialon always offers me a great and
innovative ways to solve any problem that arises. In
one instance, my customer asked me to create a password
protection code on the touchpanel in the visitor area,
and I was able to do it in no time at all. It is
examples like that that make Medialon so great!". |
