Okolariet is a huge edutainment centre, financed by the
city of Vejle (Denmark) taking you on an interactive
tour around themes like recycling, drinking water and
nature. It's all about ecology. This is all done in an
artificial environment with a 1:1 sewer pipe, a small
wood, underwater experiences and interactivity.
By using Medialon Manager Show Control and Medialon
Display Systems, AV integration company Teletech has
supplied a unique solution to Okolariet. Inaugurated
recently by the Danish Environment Minister Mr Hans Chr.
SCHMIDT. Okolariet is allready very successful.
By using only digital media (audio, movies, text and
pictures), Okolariet has been taking advance of
Medialon powerful solutions to communicate over network.
The information's management is shared by several
skilled teams, updating contents of their respective
area.
Each part of that fantastic village has its own Medialon
Manager Show Control unit managing light, sensor, audio
and video servers and visitors interaction. This system
setup is made to insure that, in case of a failure in a
zone, the others will carry on running their shows. By
managing global features like Supervision of the local
show controllers, opening hours or surveillance,
Medialon Manager is the heart of the ecological Park.
The technical staff of Okolariet can monitor, control
and update any part of the exhibition from anywhere in
the centre by using a laptop on the LAN with Medialon
Manager user interface. The software can also make an
automated phone call or send an E-mail with an error log
report in case of a problem occuring. Then the technical
team can log on to the system from extranet and solve
the cases.
The conference room of Okolariet is, as the rest of the
centre, managed by Medialon Manager. Video conference,
dataton watchout, Powerpoint's, video projectors,
curtains, screens and lights are under control with a
user friendly interface. It is even possible to show in
this room, any video clip used in the exhibition area,
retrieved over the network.

When we started this project we were very focused on our
visions about making Okolariet an Edutainment centre
with a strong focus on using different AV techniques to
strengthen our communication with our visitors. Then
later on we realised that our demands seemed to be ahead
of what was possible. After spending a lot of time
researching on the AV/IT market it was obvious that was
only on manufacturer, Medialon, which in an industrial
standard way, could cover the whole range of our needs.
Another important point was the Medialon solutions could
be programmed and installed by local a Danish company (Teletech).
As today I am sure that the combination of our visions
and the Medialon products were the right one to ensure
advanced visitor communications…
