Medialon was chosen by the
French-based Alabama Company, specialized in staging and
live events, to go on tour throughout France with Michel
Polnareff, a French singer. This tour marked the 34
years of absence of the singer on stages.
With more than 60 concerts and a million of spectators,
“Ze tour 2007” by Michel Polnareff was one of the
biggest musical events of last year in France.
The famous white sunglasses – used as a “trademark” by
the singer because he wears them all the time – had been
created in huge scale so they could be suspended on top
of the stage. While the concert was running, the
audience could watch videos displayed on two 16mm LED
screens inserted in place of the glasses and ten 6mm SMD
screens managing 10 different sources live coming from
the cameras or the Hippotizer filming the singer on
stage.
One Medialon Manager V4 Pro Show & Media Control license
was used as the control interface between the grandMa
lighting console, Hippotizer media servers and the Barco
Encore system. Thanks to Medialon Manager, it allowed
Alabama to work on DMX or Ethernet to run the concert.
“Having initially used a Dataton system, then the Barco
Events Controller, working with a Medialon Manager
system was the obvious logical order” said Joël May,
Technical Manager of Alabama.
The main challenge on this show was to manage a
multitude of medias running in meantime. But a good
thing was that Medialon Manager didn’t need to be
compiled before being run, so modifications could be
performed on the fly, while the concert was running. |
