Thierry Renard of Blue Squares Turnkey Solutions in
Belgium and France selected a Medialon system to control
the complex new installation, SourceOrama, at the source
of famous Chaudfontaine mineral water in Belgium.
Chaudfontaine water comes from the only mineral and
thermal spring in Belgium. It owes its qualities to a
unique geological history; the water's underground path
through a layer of imestone protected by a watertight
shield of slate protects the water from pollution and
enables the water to emerge with a perfect balance of
minerals and trace elements.
Visitors to the Chaudfontaine source learn more about
the origins of the water and its health benefits at the
new SourceOrama. Blue Squares integrated all the
computers, images, sound, video and lighting for the
installation, choosing Medialon to control 62 computers
networked to transmit images to more than 30 plasma
screens, a host of video projectors, real fountains and
an interactive simulator. The simulator shows how,
according to scientific measurements, it takes 60 years
for the water to travel the entire thermal circuit : in
just a few seconds visitors can follow a droplet of
water from a cloud to its bottling at Chaudfontaine.
Approximately 50,000 visitors are expected to visit
SouceOrama annually. Liege-based Cotoon created all the
images and video for the installation. A2RC served as
SourceOrama's architectural firm with Sine Qua Non
handling the furniture design. |
