A
Medialon Manager Control System is currently used to control and
synchronize the entire AV devices installed inside the Spanish Pavilion
at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.
EMBT designed and built the Spanish pavilion. The 8,000sqm building is
inspired on wicker baskets. Its façades is covered by this material
which is present both in spanish and chinese traditional arts & crafts.
SONO, a highly experienced spanish-based integrator, has been hired to
install the entire audio and visual design of the Spanish Pavilion. They
selected a Medialon control system to be the main AV controller of the
entire pavilion.
The Spanish pavilion is spread into three exhibition areas and has been
imagined by three recognized spanish film directors.
The first exhibition room has been designed by Juan José Bigas Luna.
When entering the room, visitors are immersed in an amazing large scale
movie, projected onto two 50 meter long and 5 meter high curved screens.
The multimedia show includes a mix of video, sound and lighting effects.
SONO has also imagined and developed a system to get the ground
vibrating synchronously to the content of the video projection. In this
area, Medialon Manager runs the entire show, including 19x CLM R10 video
projectors, a Dataton Watchout system, 24x independent sound channels as
well as the motorized elements used for the ground.
The second exhibition room, made by Basilio Martin Patino, is helical
and consists of five rectangular screens of different sizes with 25x CLM
HD8 Barco projectors, all controlled by Medialon Manager.
The third exhibition room has been imagined by Isabel Coixet. It is
starring “Miguelín”, a giant baby. The baby is a seven-meter high
animatronic with moving hands, mouth and eyes. In addition, 3x Barco CLM
R10 video projectors display several video animations onto curved
screens.
“We have chosen Medialon software for control and synchronization of all
elements, mechanisms, video lighting and sound of the Spanish Pavilion
because we have been working with this software in many installations
and we know it fits perfectly our needs.”, says Francesc Sabata,
Technical Manager of SONO.
The Spanish Pavilion will be opened to visitors during the entire six
months length of the World Expo.
