Mirage Entertainment, the US-based leading creative
entity in live shows and attractions, designed "Strike
Force", a spectacular Aircraft Carrier stunt show held
in Tianjin Binhai Aircraft Theme Park, China.
Mirage Entertainment’s Vice President of Shows and
Attractions, Bob O’ Neill, selected and installed a
Medialon show and media control system for the show. The
system includes one Showmaster Pro Embedded Show
Controller which is controlling the lighting, audio and
special effects. The Showmaster Pro also controls a MAS
Pro audio server and Advantech ADAM I/Os on the Ethernet
network. The ADAMs are connected to flame effects, spear
launchers, water cannons, and even the gun turret of the
aircraft carrier! In addition, a pyrotechnics controller
is synchronized with the time code output of the
Showmaster Pro.
A Medialon Manager Panel, Medialon’s free user interface
design software, is running on a large touch screen
computer. From a simple touch of a button, tasks can be
triggered and staff can interact with the programming on
the Showmaster Pro to enable automatic effects or
trigger them manually.
One Medialon MAS Pro audio server plays back multitrack
music, sound effects and dialogue for the show as well
as preshow music and announcements.
Five months of pre-production and rehearsal were
required to create this action extravaganza featuring a
real ex-Soviet aircraft carrier, explosions, jet skis,
and 18 stunt performers.
During the show, the audience can enjoy Hollywood level
stunt performances, as well as spectacular special
effects and pyrotechnics.
“The
aircraft carrier is a star of the show on its own. Not
only does it provide an ideal back drop, but it’s also
the main focus of the story,” declares Todd
Lester, Director of the show. “It
gives us the opportunity to do some amazing 30 meter
falls off the ship and some high-speed rappelling
ascensions up the side,” he adds.
This type of show is the first of its kind in
China. It provides a
wonderful entertainment experience for the audience
thanks to spectacular special effects including great
fiery explosions, water blasts, jet ski stunts and
pyrotechnics of all kinds.
The 25-minute show debuted on October 01, 2010. It
closed for the winter on October 31, 2010 and will
reopen in the spring of 2011 with additional special
effects, submarines, and pyrotechnics. |
