The Swedish Railway Museum in Ängelholm, Sweden has
selected a Medialon Show & Media Control system to
update their current AV installation.
The Swedish Railway Museum resides in a rebuilt
locomotive shed from 1898 and presents the Swedish
railway history in about 2 000sqm. One of the finest
collections of historical railway items in the world is
preserved in the museum, and also recounts more than 150
years of Swedish railway history.
The visitors can follow the development of the railway
in full-scale exhibits as well as in models and a
slide-show. They can also have a ride in the
locomotive-simulator called "Locomotion". The museum has
been designed so that everyone could find an interest,
from the children to the most advanced engineers.
Medialon Manager has been selected and integrated by
Informationsteknik AB, for the AV installation upgrade
of the main attraction of the museum where old trains
come back to life. A 12 minutes long show about the
railway history runs all day long. The show is built up
around a large model railway with 12 different trainsets
from different historical periods, starting with the old
“Locomotion” and moving forward in history up to the
swedish high speed train X2000. The trains move around
in synchronization with pictures, audio and lights
presented on a multiprojector display above the railway.
The show can be presented in three different languages
and they also have a children version.
All the movements of the trains, lighting effects,
digital video projectors, music and speakers are
synchronized together thanks to a Timeline created on
one Medialon Manager Lite license. The Timeline makes
overview and changes in the show programming very
“visual” and allows fast, easy and accurate changes.
“Medialon Manager system was easy to setup and makes it
easy to run for the Museum staff. It is a perfect
solution”, said Peter Colmeus, Informationsteknik AB
Project Manager.
